Dimas Abreu Archanjo Dutra teaches and conducts research in the interdisciplinary areas of Robotics, Mechatronics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. He has experience on system identification, probabilistic modelling, control systems, and optimization. He is a currently an IDEA Faculty Fellow with a project of introducing concepts of innovation, design and entrepreneurship to the sophomore-level mechatronics course, MAE 211. He was also awarded the George W. Weaver Award in 2023, together with Dr. Sam Mukdadi, with a proposal to introduce practical classroom demonstrations to the foundational dynamics course, MAE 242.
